Begun on September 16th, 2007, St. Paul Chong Hasang of Harker Heights, Texas, under the direction and guidance of Fr. Richard O'Rourke, is running a series of adult classes on different aspects of the Catholic Faith. These classes are being recorded by parisioners Anna Adam and Frank Arevalo and are posted as podcasts for the benefit of the parish and all those who would like to listen. On January 13th and 14th, parishioners began a series of talks on various saints in a study of My Life with the Saints by James Martin. Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Fr. Pedro Arrupe. Saint Thomas Merton and St. Bernadette. St. Theresa of Lisieux & Joan of Arc On January 27th, the My Life with the Saints discussions continued. Dorothy Day Pope John XXIII - Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli St. Peter St. Thomas Aquinas Mother Teresa of Calcutta On February 3rd, we had a guest priest talk about the Wedding Feast at Cana and Jesus' first miracle. 2007 This first class, on September 16th and repeated September 17th, was on the topic of the History of the Catholic Church. On September 23rd and 24th, Phil and Father taught on the Customs of the Catholic Faith and specifically customs at our own church. On September 30th and October 1st, Dr. Mary Keller presented the topic of The Sacraments, Grace and Virtures. The slideshow for this presentation can be viewed by clicking here. On October 14th and 15th, several parishioners presented a tour of the church and the Blessed Sacrament chapel, giving a history of the patron saint, the church itself, items of the Mass, as well as articles specific to our parish. On October 21st and 22nd, Father Richard talked about the top ten questions Catholics are asked. You'll be surprised at some of the answers! On October 28th and 29th, Deacon Klaus talked about Revelation: Scripture and Traditions. The recording here is actually a splice of both sessions. You can find the slideshow here. On November 2nd and 3rd, Dick Burke descibed the Mass from start to finish along with the significance of the traditions and prayers. You can find the slideshow here. On November 18th, three parishers shared the significance and history of Meditation, The Rosary and Perpetual Adoration.
